If you are a fan of Alt-J, then you’ll more than likely be a fan of Febueder. Hailing from the UK, Febueder bring a distinct style, unique vocals, and instrumentation that becomes hypnotizing. At times they even remind me of WU LYF, but maybe that’s just because of the production. Their Soap Car EP is out tomorrow (11/25), and I highly suggest you pick it up. Check out the trippy video for their single “Alligator” to wet your apatite for now.
Blood Orange’s latest single “You’re Not Good Enough” expands perfectly on Blood Orange’s signature 80’s production and sound. The single is the first off of his latest album, Cupid Deluxe, which is out now.
Also, check out the new video for album closer “Time Will Tell.” Which reminds me of rainy days spent listening to 90’s pop.
Betty Who? Jessica Anne Newham, is the voice behind Betty Who. Calling New York home, via Sydney Australia, upon first listen may sound like some radio pop hit from Katy Perry, but if you take a second listen, it has an undeniably addictive sound of its own, especially stand out track “High Society.” You can stream her new Movement EP below, and download it here.
I find it surprising that at times, people who are into hip-hop have never heard of Atmosphere. Possibly the greatest hip-hop duo from the underground scene, Slug and Ant brought a style totally their own. Previously unreleased, “Gods Bathroom Floor” is the a testament to Atmosphere’s talents.
