As I browse through the endless music of bandcamp, I came across Will Driving West and it sounded so similar to Elliot Smith, it was the prefect way to close out a Sunday night, unwinding and something soothing to ease back into the work week. If you’re an Elliot Smith fan than you will the The Breakout.
Following up their recent Our Own Dream EP, Keep Shelly In Athens, are dropping yet another EP, Campus Martius, on December 5th. The title track from the EP is what I would call “intergalactic elegance” as it builds into star gazing music that only the Greeks could appreciate.
Now for something dark, depressing and wrist cutting. Well no not really. Just another nonsense song by Plastic Bertrand a Belgian musician, songwriter, producer, editor and television presenter – that I never heard of. The songs title means either “It Is Gliding For Me” or “All’s Good For Me“. Came across it by accident and hopefully someone else out there enjoys it. If one cannot enjoy the song, well…maybe one can enjoy the video for its technical achievements.
My favorite toe tapping little ditty from the EP, To Yet Unknowing World, by Idahoan Josh Ritter is “Tokyo.” Originally to be included in his album So Runs The World Away (or something like that). It is one of those songs that you can play over and over without it becoming dull – that was my experience. However, I warn you not to play this little number more then 5 times in a row. Check out the EP in it’s entirety here.
